Dr. Matt Hutt Chiropractor NBCA 137
Hey, I’m Matt, or Dr. Hutt, or Dr. Matt (I’m good with any of the above).
I’ve been practicing chiropractic for 16 years, and I see a little bit of everybody. From week-old babies to grandparents and pretty much everyone in between.
My approach to chiropractic is pretty straightforward. I focus on muscles, joints and movement, figure out what’s going on, and choose treatment based on the person in front of me. Depending on the problem, that might include hands-on chiropractic care, soft tissue treatment, traction, laser, shockwave, exercise and advice, or custom orthotics.
A big part of my practice is working with babies and young children. I receive a lot of referrals from lactation consultants and other providers to assess musculoskeletal tension and restriction that may be contributing to difficulties with movement, positioning or feeding.
I see this quite often in babies with tongue or lip ties. Chiropractic care doesn’t correct the tie itself. My role is to assess and address the associated musculoskeletal and soft tissue components when appropriate. Treatment with babies is very gentle and adapted to their age and size.
For everyone else, I see the kinds of problems you’d expect in a musculoskeletal practice. Backs, necks, headaches, shoulders, hips, knees, sports and overuse injuries, and all the various aches and pains that come with work, parenting, getting older and trying to stay active.
Outside the clinic, I’m a husband and dad of two and pretty involved in the Miramichi community. Music is a big part of my life. I play in local bands, book shows and organize the New Maritime Music Festival each year. I’m also one of the owners of New Maritime Beer Company, so there’s a decent chance you’ve seen me somewhere other than a treatment room.
I’ve been doing this long enough to know that not every problem needs the same treatment, and not every problem needs a chiropractor. My job is to figure out what’s going on, explain it in normal language, and help you get back to doing the things you want to do.
